It’s a new year, and with that comes new faces. Let’s meet the new assistants here at Pace Publishing:
Andrea St. Aubin – Lab Assistant
Hello! I’m Andrea, and I am 22. I received my BA in English/Writing from the University of South Carolina in May. I also worked as an editorial assistant for the managing department at the University of South Carolina Press. I love New York, but I’m a Southern girl at heart. Give me a sweet tea in a mason jar and we’ll be best friends. However, my first love is book publishing, and New York city is its epicenter. I’ll give up sweet tea for the rest of my life as long as I can be surrounded by stories and the words that create them. If this doesn’t work out, then my plan B is to move to California and be a face character at Disneyland.
My responsibilities as the Graduate Lab Assistant include helping faculty and students with the computers in the lab as well as working on the MS in Publishing blog and MS in Publishing Internship Website. Feel free to ask me if you need any help with anything while you are working in the lab.
Erica Weiman – Lab Student Aide
Hi! I’m Erica. I am in the English and Publishing combined degree program here at Pace and I will be graduating in May of 2014. While I do love being immersed in the Publishing world, I also enjoy cooking, baking, and exploring my surroundings. I also love to collaborate with others, especially in writing. When I’m not busy in New York City, I relax at home, on Long Island.
I am also interning this semester at the Jean Naggar Literary Agency and am already learning a great deal. Like Andrea, I am available to help you with any questions you might have while working in the lab.
Caitlyn Callegari – Publishing Student Aide
Hi, I’m Cait. I’m 22 and I’m from Staten Island. I graduated from the University at Albany this past May, with a BA in English. During my time at UAlbany, I was a brother of Alpha Phi Omega, the national community service fraternity and I was an Athletic Academic tutor. I have had two great internships that have led me towards my decision to become a student here at Pace, one as the Web & New Media Operations Intern at the NYC Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications and one as an Acquisitions Intern with SUNY Press. While I am not exactly sure which aspect of publishing best suits me yet, I am interested in book publishing with a concentration in YA and children’s books and hopefully one day I will write them as well as publish them.
As the student aide in the MS in Publishing department I work closely with Professor Raskin and the rest of the staff and faculty to help with the running of the office. Students should feel free to contact me at puboffice@pace.edu if you have any questions that I might able to help with.
Bridget Waterhouse – Pace University Press Assistant
I am a west coast transplant and I just celebrated my seven year anniversary with New York. Originally from Seattle, I moved here to go to NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where I received a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in theatre, with a focus in design and management. Since graduating, I’ve been freelancing professionally as a stage manager, artist, and photographer in New York and around the country. When I have a free moment, I catch up on my napping, train as a cirque-style aerialist, and read as many books as I can manage. I’m thrilled to be starting a new chapter in my career with the Pace graduate program in publishing.
Pace University Press publishers some interesting books and journals and I am excited to be working on them. Check out the Press here: http://www.pace.edu/press/
