Editorial Intern
McGraw-Hill Education (MHE) is a leading provider of print and digital materials serving the college market.
MHE has an exciting paid opportunity for an Editorial Intern in our New York office at 2 Penn Plaza.
The intern will support three editors and a manager working in the communication, English composition, and developmental English group. Beyond some administrative tasks, editorial duties include maintaining data on spreadsheets, talking to professors by phone to solicit reviews, processing electronic manuscripts, clearing permissions, researching competitive information, proofreading print and digital products, and Quality Assurance of digital products, among other projects.
Candidates must be able to work two days a week (preferably 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday) through Spring 2014.
This part-time internship is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the educational publishing industry.
Qualifications:
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Meticulous about details
Effective telephone presence
Excellent proofreading skills
Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Proficient in using Excel
Prior administrative experience a plus
PAID INTERNSHIP – $12/hr
