Position: Sales Assistant – Field and International

Location: New York, NY

The Sales Assistant supports sales activities across the Americas for US field sales and International sales in Canada, Latin America, the Caribbean & Mexico.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain databases by inputting sales and promotional materials for sales reps and customers.
  • Create presentations and sales materials for field reps and conferences.
  • Work closely with distributor to resolve customer queries.
  • Create and maintain sales reports utilizing internal systems for the Senior Sales Managers.
  • Contact customers and follow up on potential sales leads.
  • Assist with and enable communication flow between sales teams, distributors and Bloomsbury UK export sales team.
  • Support Sales Directors and Senior Managers with daily administrative tasks.
  • Work with editorial and marketing departments as directed to provide necessary sales reports.

Qualifications:

  • Keen interest in sales as well as two to three years of related experience in a support role. Bachelor degree strongly preferred as is experience in publishing.
  • Professional demeanor—Customer service is a must.
  • Must have excellent speaking and written skills.
  • Must be able to adapt quickly and accordingly to various situations.
  • Must know Microsoft Office. Clear understanding of Excel is essential. Some HTML skills preferred but not required.

Position: Assistant Marketing Manager

Location: New York, NY

This position will provide an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Marketing Manager to learn about and assist with strategic initiatives and day-to-day activities for retaining InStyle, Essence and People StyleWatch subscribers.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Marketing Manager in managing day-to-day activities for all retention/loyalty channels, including creative development, consumer segmentation, and fulfillment operations
  • Focus on modernizing subscriber communications by driving transactions online, creating targeted messaging and segments, and optimizing existing marketing channels
  • Implement and analyze marketing initiatives and tests; provide recommendations as they relate to the brand’s strategic direction
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Production, Promotion and Operations/Fulfillment) to ensure integration of objectives, strategy and execution
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects for the brands and/or the division, which could include work on the following: pricing/offer strategy, premium development, loyalty programs, etc.
  • Conduct regular renewal and payment rate revenue forecasting/budgeting and manage financial expense reconciliations
