A free event is happening at Books Are Magic: Author Stephanie Land will be talking about her book, Maid, on January 23rd between 7:30pm-8:30pm.
She is a journalist whose work has been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Guardian.
This memoir is about Land’s life as she worked as a maid for years, struggling as a single parent to provide for her daughter. “In Maid, she reveals the dark truth of what it takes to survive and thrive in today’s inequitable society…While she worked hard to scratch her way out of poverty…Stephanie wrote. She wrote the true stories that weren’t being told. The stories of overworked and underpaid Americans.”
