Position: Assistant
Type: Freelance, Full-time

MTV Digital is seeking a Freelance Assistant to join the digital production team. This position supports the VP, MTV Digital and will be dedicated to specific projects. Applicants should be comfortable balancing multiple tasks in a fast paced environment, be highly organized, detail-oriented and eager to take initiative. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must. This entry-level position is a growth opportunity for those candidates looking to embark upon a career in digital media and those who are fans of music, fashion, pop-culture and MTV.

Responsibilities:

+ Responsible for managing meetings, including maintaining an accurate calendar, scheduling meetings, printing presentation materials and ordering large group meals
+ Reviewing and reconciling expense reports
+ Collecting and synthesizing research reports, creating PowerPoint presentations, drafting letters
+ Assisting in editorial research needs
+ Ordering office supplies
+ Running a variety of production errands
+ Answering phones, taking messages and overseeing communication requests
+ Assisting in the updating of various social media accounts
+ Supporting production requests for blog posts/Wordpress updates
+ Responsible for tape management, dub requests
+ Retrieving assets and processing production requests
+ Researching and writing blog posts as applicable

Requirements:
+ Highly organized and detail-oriented
+ Excellent communication and writing skills
+ Must have flexible hours (evenings and weekends as required)
+ Skilled in updating and creating content for various social media platforms
+ Proficient in creating PowerPoint presentations and reports
+ Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel
+ Passion and knowledge of current entertainment, fashion, pop-culture and social media environment
+ Familiar with MTV brand, on-air programming and the MTV website
