Remote internship opportunity: Author Assistant

Award-winning Young Adult author seeks intern for 16 hours/week for the Spring 2013 semester. The work involves creating and keeping up author Bill Konigsberg’s social media presence on Twitter, Facebook and other sites as needed. Are you social media savvy? Do you understand how to increase an author’s Twitter following through timely and appropriate tweets about Y.A. literature and issues of interest to teens, Y.A. librarians, and educators? If so, and if you have other creative ideas about how to catapult an author into the world of social media, this may be a perfect internship for you. An understanding of issues related to L.G.B.T. youth will be helpful. Internship will start in the spring and lead up to the release of a major novel in June (Scholastic). Work may extend to a part-time summer job that includes other areas of publicity, such as setting up school visits and media interviews. This will depend upon interest and ability of author and intern.

Interns are required to communicate with author via either Skype, email and via phone conversations on a weekly basis.
