Rock and roll legend Richard Hell (from the band Television) has recently penned a memoir about his life in the Punk scene in late 70’s New York City. He will be at Bookmarc (400 Bleeker St., Manhattan) promoting his new book at 6 pm. This event is free.

Conversation Among Critics- Ralph Waldo Emerson
At 1:15 at the New York Public Library (5th Ave. and 42nd St, Manhattan,) author of the book Estimating Emerson, David LaRocca, will be speaking about his life’s study of Ralph Waldo Emerson. The talk will focus on how critics have perceived Emerson over time. This event is free & open to the public on a first come first serve basis.

At the New York Public Library (5th Ave. and 42nd St, Manhattan,) the 2013 NYC Teen Author Festival is kicking off with an event featuring four female and four male authors: Ted Goeglein, Gordon Korman, Lucas Klauss, Michael Northrop, Susane Colasanti, E. Lockhart, Carolyn Mackler, and Sarah Mlynowski. The panel will be moderated by David Levithan, is free and open to the public, and begins at 2pm. Following this, there is another free panel on YA characters dealing with poor choices.
