One of a Kind: Unique Artist’s Books

This is a group show with 22 major artists dedicated to the Artist’s Book. It is being held at the AC institute (547 W. 27th street, Manhattan.) There is an opening event occurring April 4th from 6-8 pm. The exhibition begins on the 4th and will close on May 18. The gallery is open from 1:00- 6:00 pm and is closed on Mondays and Sundays. The gallery accepts donations.

Identity in YA Books

A part of the 2013 NYC Teen Author Festival, this event will go into the ways in which authors represent youth identity, including themes of LGBTQ. This event at the New York Public Library (Bryant Park, Manhattan) is free and open to the public.

Reading of Dante’s Inferno

For the 20th year in a row at the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine (1047 Amsterdam Ave, Manhattan) Dante’s epic will be read aloud. This event begins at 9 pm and is free. Poet in residence Marilyn Nelson will be among the featured readers.

A conversation with Aleksandar Hemon and Colum McCann

McNally Jackson Books (52 Prince Street, Manhattan) will be hosting a conversation between two authors, Aleksandar Hemon and Colum McCann at 7 pm. Hemon will be discussing his new memoir The Book of My Lives. This event is free.

Celebrating 50 Years of the New York Review of Books

Distinguished contributors to the Review will meet at the New York Public Library (Bryant Park, Manhattan) and host a panel discussing books, New  York, and their work. Notable Guest Joseph Lelyveld (former executive editor of the New York Times) will be in attendance. This event is free and is hosted from 7-8 pm.
