MoCCa Arts Fest

Sponsored by the Society of Illustrators, the MoCCa Arts Fest is a convention of underground and indie comic artists and publishers. Our own Professor Levitz will be moderating a panel celebrating the role of counterculture comic artists in NYC (2:30 pm on Saturday.) Tickets are $12.00 for a single day if you purchase online before going. The event is held at the 69th Regiment Armory (68 Lexington Ave., Manhattan.) Many Pace faces will be in attendance! This two day event goes on all day.

April 8

Franklin Park Reading Series

Checkout Franklin Park Bar (618 St. John’s Place, Brooklyn) for a monthly reading series. Guest hosts rotate- you never know who you might find. This bar has a great outdoor seating area (complete with space heaters!) This event is free and starts at 8 pm.

April 9

Architectural Book Event: Lincoln Center

At the Schwarzman branch of the New York Public Library (Bryant Park, Manhattan) there is a free event (first come first served) centering around the redesign of Lincoln Center. In conjunction with the book Lincoln Center: Inside Out, partners Elizabeth Diller, Ricardo Scofidio, Charles Renfro, and Barry Bergdoll (MoMa’s Chief Curator of architecture and design) will be talking about the transformation of the building. The event starts at 6 pm.

Stoops to Nuts: Storytellers

Thomas Pryor will host a night of storytelling at the Cornelia Street Café (29 Cornelia Street, Manhattan.) Featured presenters include Pauline Findlay, Dr. Kurt Gestmann, and Tim O’Mara. This event starts at 6 pm, and costs $8.00 (includes one drink.)

April 10

Coffin Factory Issue Launch Party

The Coffin Factory (a magazine for people who love books) will be holding a release party for their newest issue at the Housing Works Bookstore (126 Crosby St., Manhattan.) This event is free and begins at 7pm. Check out their magazine here.
