CSS is currently looking to fulfill an available Research Assistant position. Below are the job details:
Description: Seeking a bright person capable of reporting and basic research to support senior editors by enabling them to better leverage their time, write more stories, get out and about and formulate agenda-setting ideas with the rest of the team. The Research Assistant role will involve collecting industry data and research from both internal and external sources, including data groups, research firms, investment banks and companies.
Qualifications: Looking for candidates that have interest/experience in writing & journalism; at least 1-2 years of experience. Must have a 4 year degree, preferably candidates with a journalism/writing degree.
The right candidate will be capable of helping define what information is needed and liaising with providers to get it, sometimes under tight time constraints. He or she will help formulate news trawls that determine discussion topics for daily news conferences and will participate in the internal debates that generate commentary ideas. In addition, the role will involve preparing dossiers on interview subjects. There will also be opportunities to research and organize representation at conferences, as well as participation in the shaping and execution of social media strategy.
