The Magathon

From the New York Public Library: “Join us for the annual “marathon” reading in the Periodicals Room, with editors reading favorite selections from their journals.  Participating literary magazines include The Atlas Review, Conjunctions, Diverse Voices Quarterly, Eleven Eleven, Epiphany, The Hudson Review, Kalyani Magazine, Lalitamba,   The Literary Review, Maintenant: A Journal of Contemporary Dada Writing and Art, MAKE: A Literary Magazine, The Manhattan Review, A Public Space, Rattapallax, Slice, St. Petersburg Review, Vanitas, Vestal Review, and Washington Square Review. Literary BFFS

Literary BFFs is a series of author talks in which an author is paired on stage with their best friend, and they talk about the insights only a BFF can have. Earl Monroe

Former Bullets and Knicks player Earl Monroe will be at the 5th Avenue Barnes and Noble signing his book Earl the Pearl: My Story. From their site: “books will be available at the cash registers starting 9:00 am day of the event. Customers are required to purchase the book(s) at the event/store to receive a wristband.” The signing begins at 12:30 pm.

Crime Fiction Panel

Celebrating international crime month, McNally Jackson Bookstore (52 Prince Street, Manhattan) is holding a panel of influential crime novel editors and publishers.  Michael Reynolds, Jason Pinter, Dennis Johnson, and Johnny Temple will be in attendance discussing the crime genre as a whole, and their work in the field.
