Position: Project Manager

Travel + Leisure seeks a project manager to assist with its annual Design Awards, which acknowledges the year’s best projects in architecture, design, fashion, and technology.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the intake of submissions and compiling entry data into organized spreadsheets
  • Communicating with PR, fielding questions and ensuring that all entry materials are received
  • Facilitating the execution of the package in print, tablet, and web formats.

Requirements:

  • Must be available to work 5 days a week
  • Must be responsible, dependable, punctual, hard-working, extremely organized and highly motivated
  • Must be able to multitask and work quickly and accurately under pressure
  • Should have knowledge of the architecture, design, art, and fashion worlds and an
    understanding of the awards.

Leading independent publisher Skyhorse Publishing is looking for a motivated, entrepreneurial-spirited Sales Manager to manage the day-to-day sales activities for established customers and to aggressively pursue new business. The Sales Manager will report to the Director of Special Sales. Among our core categories are rural living, cooking, humor & gift, health, reference and children’s. Great opportunity for growth!

Responsibilities include:

  • Increasing sales for existing accounts.
  • Proactively seeking ways to find incremental revenue through new business.
  • Maintaining a solid understanding of the Skyhorse list and the marketplace.
  • Meeting assigned revenue goals.

Required Skills:

  • 1 – 6 years experience in a sales role.
  • Experience selling books to non-traditional markets a plus.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a sales team.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a self-starting environment.
  • Flexible, yet focused.
  • Ability to travel, if necessary. (Extensive travel is not required.)
  • Basic computer skills.
