Disunion

New book Disunion will be a force in the historical non-fiction world. Comprised of 112 essays, it looks at the lies our textbooks told us about the Civil War. Jamie Malanowski, editor at Time, Esquire, and Playboy will be present at this event promotion the book, published by the New York Times. Islam in Western Museums

Writer Melissa Forstrom will be discussing the role museums have in depicting Middle Eastern culture, and how those depictions shape viewers’ conceptions of Islamic identities. This free talk will be held at the New York Public Library (5th and 42nd Street, Manhattan) and begins at 1:15 pm.
