Manhattan magazine is looking for a dynamic associate editor with 2-4 years of lifestyle magazine experience. Applicants should have a keen eye for detail and an insatiable curiosity for art, culture, tastemakers, fashion and emerging talents in NYC. Applicants should possess a knack for researching, pitching, writing and packaging stories and working with freelance writers and editors. Strong editing and packaging skills are fundamental to this position. A strong work ethic, the ability to be a team player in a fast-paced environment, organizational prowess and resourcefulness are also musts. The associate editor will assist with various sections, including front-of-book pages, calendar listings, event coverage and weekly newsletters. S/he will also assist with our bi-monthly concierge guidebook and BEACH, our Hamptons-centric publication that has a winter issue out in November. Bachelor’s degree required. Experience with InDesign and Microsoft Office required. A can-do attitude and a sense of humor required.

Position: Entertainment News Writer
Location: Brooklyn, NY/Remote

Description: 

Bustle.com is seeking a freelance breaking news writer who will specialize in short, punchy articles for its entertainment vertical.

This writer should have extensive knowledge of the entertainment industry, strong news judgment, and, most of all, the ability to write quickly and cleanly. The freelance breaking news writer will be expected to produce between eight and 10 stories a day that range between 200-300 words. Bonus points for a witty and fun voice! The ideal candidate will have a degree in Journalism/Communications/English and have at least two years of editorial experience specializing in entertainment and/or celebrity writing.

The writer can work remotely or from our Brooklyn office, but will be expected to work business hours from roughly 9am to 5pm EST Monday-Friday.
