September 27, 2013 | 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM
The Yale Club of New York
50 Vanderbilt Avenue, New York, NY 10017

The BISG is the leading book trade association for standardized best practices, research and education.

For over 35 years, BISG has been working on behalf of its diverse membership of publishers, retailers, manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, librarians and others involved in both print and digital publishing to forward its mission of creating a more informed, empowered and efficient book industry.

In seeking support from and representing every sector of the book industry, BISG affirms its belief in the interdependence of all industry segments.

BISG further believes that success in business is often easier to achieve through joint effort and that common problems are best solved together.

This year BISG is offering one free ticket for a Pace MS in Publishing student to attend their annual meeting with Prof. Denning.  This is a stellar panel of speakers and a very unique opportunity to hear key industry professionals speak about issues and challenges currently facing the book publishing industry.  Some of the speakers include:  Kenneth Michaels, Global COO, MacMillan Publishing, Sharon Lubrano, Vice President and General Manager, Bowker, Madaline  McIntosh, President and COO of  Penguin Random House and Clive Thompson, Author of, Smarter Than You Think.

If you are interested in applying please send a brief email to Prof. Denning (jdenning@pace.edu) by Tuesday, September 24th, telling her why you think it would be beneficial for you to attend.
