Job Summary: Interview is looking for an Associate Editor to conceive, assign, and edit stories and packages on a wide range of subjects, with a primary focus on fashion. The ideal candidate is creative, organized, detail-oriented, and resourceful, and has a thorough knowledge of fashion.

Description of Duties:

  • Work with the senior staff to shape the magazine’s fashion features, including interviews with designers and more multi-faceted projects and packages.
  • Conceive, assign, and edit features and front-of-book pieces.
  • Generate ideas, arrange interviews, and develop and package stories.
  • Collaborate closely with the fashion, photography, and art departments.
  • Recruit and cultivate new writers.
  • Be creative and a font of ideas.

Qualifications:

  • 4 year college degree
  • A minimum of two years of experience working in print or online in an editorial capacity.
  • Strong editing, writing, creative, and problem-solving skills.
  • A thorough knowledge of fashion.
  • The ability to effectively balance multiple tasks and shifting priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • A strong interest in magazines and magazine-making across multiple platforms.
