While James Franco’s writing has spanned the poetic form, autobiography, essay, and short stories, October’s release of Actors Anonymous marks his debut as a novelist. Called “..Electrifying” by Amy Hempel and “provocatively honest” by Gary Shteyngart, Actors Anonymous is a powerful first novel modeled loosely on the twelve traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous; it explores in great scope the societal implications behind what happens when our public personas overtake our private ones. Join us in the Strand’s fifth floor loft for a special meet-and-greet to celebrate the release of Actors Anonymous.
- James will ONLY be signing copies of Actors Anonymous. No other books or memorabilia, please.
- There will be no posing for photos with James, though cameras are okay to have in the event space.
- James will personalize books with guests’ names.
- Please, no gifts.
