The Levine Greenberg Literary Agency is seeking a highly organized, personable individual with strong writing and discriminating reading skills to support two literary agents with large lists. This individual will be responsible for providing full time administrative and editorial support to one agent and sharing administrative duties in supporting a second agent.

Candidates must be critical readers of fiction, including suspense, “book club” fiction, women’s fiction, mystery and young adult. The job will include opportunities to read nonfiction, as well. The ideal candidate should be a highly-motivated multitasker with excellent organizational and communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. The agency is looking for someone who is a creative problem solver, a quick learner, and effective at time management. Tech savviness and familiarity with Word, Excel, Adobe, Outlook, BAITS and PowerPoint are strongly preferred. Prior publishing experience a plus. This job is an excellent way to build experience in the book publishing world and learn in a supportive and open office environment.Duties include reading submissions and queries and providing reader’s reports, helping to prepare proposals and pitch letters, and basic client management. Administrative and day-to-day support tasks include answering phones, scheduling, contract routing, filing, mailing, copying, and updating databases.

Being an Associate/Senior editor at AVENUE is a wonderful opportunity for someone interested in social journalism to significantly deepen their editorial experience and responsibilities.
