Description:
Berghahn Books is seeking a publishing intern to work closely with its Managing Director in its DUMBO-Brooklyn office. Assignments will span both books and journals and involve assisting with a range of tasks from editorial and content development to general office duties.
The position requires a responsible and detail-oriented person who can handle multiple tasks in a small-firm environment with minimal supervision. As an independent press, this position will offer a great opportunity to learn many facets of the publishing process through its exposure to all departments. In particular, it will offer a range of insights for anyone still deciding on which publishing path to take.
This is a paid ($10/hr) open-ended internship (2 days a week) with long-term placement opportunities.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will be a university student or recent graduate with a strong interest in scholarly publishing; a humanities/social science background is a plus. Excellent communication skills and a command of English grammar and spelling as well as proficiency in Word processing applications are vital.
How to apply:
Please contact Professor Denning at jdenning@pace.edu for more information.
