Intern needed for busy publishing office of Scout Books & Media, Inc., a
busy book packager, literary agency, and consulting firm. We work with
talented writers, editors, and designers to create and produce books,
represent authors and properties as a literary agent, and consult with
publishers and brands. It’s a small operation, and very busy — a motivated
intern would learn how a book is made from start to finish, how to work with
authors on developing ideas and manuscripts, and what the industry is like.
In addition, through the American Book Producers Association, a group of
some three dozen book packagers, an intern would have an opportunity to be
exposed to other producers if interested. Intern will be involved with
editorial development, research, photo research and rights, presentation
materials, and more.
