Janelle Asselin, graduate of the Class of 2012, is the CEO of Rosy Press, a new publishing company specializing in romance comics. Beforehand she edited comics for both DC Entertainment and Disney Publishing, and co edited Comics Alliance.
The Guardian Australia features an article spotlighting Asselin for pushing the comics industry to be more welcoming for women. By resurrecting an inactive genre in comics she hopes to “help comics publishers see that women are a viable demographic with money to spend.”
