734Angela-Davis_0On Tuesday, October 20, the Office of Multicultural Affairs brings scholar and activist Angela Davis to Pace’s NYC Campus for an evening of reflection and conversation on the importance of sustained social justice movements, activism, and student engagement.

Rising to prominence as a counterculture activist in the 1960s, Davis was a leader of the Communist Party in the United States and was closely associated with the Civil Rights Movement and the Black Panther Party. In later years, she became a professor of at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and worked in their History of Consciousness and Feminist Studies departments. She is the author of Women, Race & Class, and advocates for gender equity, prison reform, and alliances across color lines.
