Other Press seeks a Subsidiary Rights Intern to support the department. The internship will be Full-time and Paid, located in New York, NY.
Requirements: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. The ideal candidate is highly organized and detail oriented. Previous experience or knowledge of subsidiary rights is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities include tracking the flow of submissions to publishers and subagents around the world, aiding in the development of rights guides, sales and production materials, processing contracts, and organizing book fair attendance. This position will work closely with the Subsidiary Rights Director. Because we are a small, highly collaborative press, this position will also occasionally overlap with the Editorial Department and will be expected to read and thoughtfully evaluate manuscripts, in addition to other occasional editorial assignments. This intern position has the potential to develop into a permanent Assistant Position with full benefits.

About Our Company: Other Press publishes literature from America and around the world that represents writing at its best. We feel that the art of storytelling has become paramount today in challenging readers to see and think differently. We know that good stories are rare to come by: they should retain the emotional charge of the best classics while speaking to us about what matters at present, without complacency or self-indulgence. Our list is tailored and selective, and includes everything from top-shelf literary fiction to cutting-edge nonfiction — whether it’s political, social, or cultural — as well as a small collection of groundbreaking professional titles.
