HarperCollins is seeking an Assistant Publicist to work in their Harper, Ecco and Harper Perennial imprints!
This an entry-level opportunity.
Responsibilities:
•Provide administrative support to two Publicity Directors
•Provide support on all aspects of book publicity campaigns including:
◦pitching and scheduling author interviews and events;
◦coordinating author travel;
◦writing press materials;
◦responding to calls from the media, authors, and booksellers;
◦researching and maintaining media contact lists and database;
◦escorting authors on tour and to media and bookstore appearances in and around New York City.
•Provide general administrative support to the department.
Qualifications:
• 4 year college degree or equivalent work experience
•Prior internship experience in publishing or publicity preferred
•Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
•Ability to excel in a fast-paced/high pressure environment
•Ability to work independently
•Excellent written and oral communication skills
•Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
•Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; social media knowledge a plus
•Tapped into pop culture a plus
