Harper Collins is seeking a Assistant Publicist.

The Assistant Publicist provides administrative and publicity support for the Harper imprint. This position supports two people who work on a variety of titles including political non-fiction, celebrity memoir, commercial and literary fiction and non-fiction.
Responsibilities:
•Provides administrative and publicity support to Director and Senior Manager.
•Assists with writing press releases, pitch letters and other promotional materials to support publicity campaigns
•Helps reach out to targeted press.
•Assists with coordinating book events and book signings for authors.
•Orchestrates publicity mailings for major book campaigns.
•Organizes author schedules; books travel for authors on tour.
•Generates media contact lists, books events and media.
•Shares department assistant duties such as mail sorting, answering phones, and sending book requests.

Qualifications:

•4 year college degree or equivalent work experience
•Prior internship experience in publishing or publicity preferred
•Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
•Ability to excel in a fast-paced/high pressure environment
•Ability to work independently
•Excellent written and oral communication skills
•Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
•Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; social media knowledge a plus
•Able to travel to author events in NYC
