OUP is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Marketing Coordinator for its Global Academic team. The Marketing Coordinator will create and implement integrated marketing campaigns for assigned products and disciplines across the print and digital publishing program in the Social Sciences.
Responsibilities:
- Marketing Implementation:
- Create and implement global marketing campaigns & plans for assigned products, that include but are not limited to:
- Content Marketing
- Social Media and Community
- Partnerships and influencer outreach
- Events/Exhibits
- Digital Marketing
- Advertising
- Merchandising
- SEO / SEM
- Create and implement global marketing campaigns & plans for assigned products, that include but are not limited to:
- Academic /journal media review outreach:
- Create and edit content related to disciple for us in social media channels (both main and discipline channels); monitor, engage with and post content in assigned discipline social media channel at least once a week.
- Track spending on all projects and ensure spending falls within assigned campaign budget from Marketing Manager.
- Run campaign and discipline level reporting , including but not limited to sales data, engagement, and marketing effectiveness that can be shared with internal stakeholders and inform future campaign plans and strategy.
- Meet marketing objectives set by Marketing Director/Associate Director/Marketing Manager; deliver marketing performance against targets and key metrics.
- Effectively communicate marketing plans/campaigns to assigned authors and editors in a timely manner; answer author questions about marketing (or direct questions to appropriate stakeholder); effectively represent OUP’s marketing strategy to other teams (e.g. sales, editorial)
- Work with central marketing teams to ensure assigned titles are appropriately represented in email, web, social.
- Represent OUP at academic exhibits and ensure all products are appropriately promoted.
- Create marketing materials for individual products and discipline, including those used by sales and those used to promote products to end-users.
- Other marketing duties, as assigned by marketing management.
- Product Marketing/Management
- Measure sales and usage across assigned products, reporting on trends to Associate Director/Marketing Manager and editorial
- Present key titles/products to key stakeholders (e.g. sales, key partners), as assigned, with a knowledge of products, including core audience and USPs.
- Contribute to Publishing Strategy
- Keep abreast of all industry trends, including new products, applications, and competitive moves; and effectively communicate findings to internal partners.

- Stay educated on trends in Marketing; engage in training sessions offered by managers; adapt and be flexible to necessary changes in strategy or structure
Requirements:
- Relevant marketing experience
- Bachelors degree required
- Digital marketing and content marketing skills
- Ability to independently balance a variety of responsibilities and handle many projects simultaneously, efficiently, and accurately.
- Demonstrate initiative, creative problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills and deliver impactful presentations.
- Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders in multiple locations and across functions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required; proficiency in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Publisher) preferred; knowledge of HTML a plus
