Stephen King, an American writer of horror, is known by some as “The King of Horror.” His most popular works are IT, The Green Mile, and Misery.

King published his first short story, “The Glass Floor” in 1967. He attended University of Maine at Orono and was permitted to teach after passing his exams. However, he failed to find a job as a teacher and started to sell his short stories to magazines to make a living.
“When your story is ready for rewrite, cut it to the bone. Get rid of every ounce of excess fat. This is going to hurt…but it must be done.”
King has published over 58 novels so far and has received many awards such as: The Bram Stoker Award, the British Fantasy Society Award, and the World Fantasy Award. He has also received the Grand Master Award from the Mystery Writers of America in 2007.
