Every year, the American Library Association recognizes books for their outstanding impact on young readers. The ALA Young Media Awards includes Newbery, Caldecott, Printz, and Coretta Scott King Book Awards. These books are selected by a committee of librarians and other literature and media experts. According to ALA’s website, the awards encourage original and creative work in children’s and young adult literature and media. Read more, here.
