The second speaker for the Afternoon Seminars at Pace in the MS in Publishing department is Brian O’Leary. The Afternoon Seminars are a 90-minute guest lecture once every month with students attending in-person along with a zoom option available for online students. 

October’s lecturer Brian O’Leary is the Executive Director of the Book Industry Study Group. He will be speaking to students about the supply chain issues that are currently challenging publishers. 

In his position as Executive Director, Brian ensures that the BISG creates and implements standards and disseminates information and conducts required research to benefit the supply chain in the book publishing industry. Prior to his present role, he was the principal of Magellan Media Consulting. With an MBA from Harvard Business School and an AB in Chemistry from Harvard College, he has served as SVP with Hammond Inc. as well as overseen production and distribution operations at several Time Inc. Magazines. He also co-edited Book: A Futurist’s Manifesto (O’Reilly Media, 2012) with Hugh McGuire.
