Monday, November 20, 2023, was an interesting break from numbers for Professor James Perry’s Financials Aspects of Publishing class. Instead of meeting in Room 1410 at 161 William, Pace University the students made the trek to 1745 Broadway to the hallowed grounds of Penguin Random House. Professor Perry is the VP of Finance and Business Operations at PRH, and he invited his class for an interaction with his colleagues from the editorial, managing editorial, marketing, publicity, and contracts divisions. The students learnt about the intricacies of the business from some of the best minds in the industry and were happily surprised by the books given to them at the end.
