This past Wednesday, September 18th, new and returning students from the MS in Publishing program experienced the first book swap of the semester. This was the perfect opportunity for students to bring books that have been sitting on their shelves for too long and to discover new titles.
A variety of books were shared, from fiction, thriller, romance, nonfiction, journals, among others. During the event, students were excited to see recommendations and opinions on the books they brought to the event and to pick up new books to add to their TBR. It was a terrific opportunity for students to discover the kinds of books that their peers gravitated to and the kinds of books they never thought to pick up prior to the book swap. There was a lot of book talk and students walked away with new perspectives and new books to obsess over.
After exciting conversations surrounding books, students shared a sweet treat of donuts while already indulging in the new books they had chosen. We are excited for upcoming book swaps and thrilled to see what new books come in and find a new home!
Our next book swap will take place on Wednesday, December 4th. This will be a special holiday themed event. We are excited to see what new books students bring and what new recommendations will be exchanged!
