On Thursday, April 24th, the MS in Publishing Program hosted the Books in Bloom Spring Book Swap, our spring-themed book swap that was accompanied by a floral bookmark-making activity. Students connected by chatting about books with interesting plotlines and discovered their shared love for various genres.
The bookmark-making activity, led by our graduate assistant Chardonnae, encouraged students to engage in a hands-on creative experience that many of them had never tried before. Participants designed their own bookmarks using pressed flowers, tassels, and butterfly embellishments. Everyone bonded over selecting what colors they wanted to use for each and pondered the placement of their chosen items on their bookmarks.
The activity offered a unique way to personalize their new reads and added a memorable element to the event. It was a joy to watch conversations unfold and reminded everyone how much books truly bring people together.
Overall, Books in Bloom was a refreshing and engaging event to help bring the spring semester to a close! We thank everyone who participated and hope they enjoy their new books and bookmarks!
