Young publishing professionals from NYC and the surrounding areas met Tuesday afternoon, September 23rd, at Reichenbach Hall for the Young Publishers Association’s Back to School Bar Hang, where they could grab a drink, network with others in their career field, and those who arrived early even received a free book. Over 70 people RSVP’d for the event, all with varying levels of publishing experience. The YPA is a great organization that helps young publishing professionals build a community with people who are interested in the same career path.

The Young Publishers’ Association was created to help “foster connection, provide mentorship, and uplift the next generation of publishing professionals at all stages of their career…” in the hope of  “facilitat[ing] networking opportunities that will ultimately forge an accessible and long-lasting community.” They host both in-person and online events every month, ranging from Trivia Nights to Literary Walking tours to Rooftop hangs, as well as virtual panels where you can learn more about publishing in translation, disabilities in publishing, how to best tailor your resume, and more!
