Pace Students at the Second Annual YP Ball
On Monday, December 8, the Young Publishers Association (YPA) held its second annual winter ball at the Goethe-Institut New York where young professionals in the publishing industry gathered to celebrate the year and kick off the holidays.

Thanks to Professor Cox and Professor Soares, six students from the Ms Publishing program were able to attend the event with a free ticket, and they were joined by other Pace MS in Publishing students who also wanted to attend. The event was not only for members and supporters of the YPA, but older professionals who believe in the group’s message and had tips and skills to share with the next generation.
The event was a great opportunity to meet with fellow professionals in the industry, network, and even enter a raffle to win prizes such as lunch with an editor, a stack of books, and even a meeting with Pace’s MS in Publishing Professor, Erin Cox, publisher of Publishing Perspectives and Words and Money.
The YPA is an organization that, according to their mission statement, “aims to foster connection, provide mentorship, and uplift the next generation of publishing professionals at all stages of their career.” They do this by creating events and collaborative spaces to help spark conversation and facilitate community. The second annual ball was a great event enjoyed by many, and Pace students look forward to future events.
