Summer/Fall Internship at Oxford University Press
The Medical division is currently accepting applications for an Editorial Intern for the Oxford University Press USA Summer Internship Program for both the Summer and Fall semesters.
NOTE: This is a COLLEGE CREDIT ONLY internship.
Oxford University Press USA’s Medical division Editorial Interns will gain valuable publishing experience as they help editors and editorial assistants with manuscript preparation and with other editorial duties including:

Regular interaction with authors, editors, and reviewers

Evaluating manuscripts

Tracking of all projects for an on-time delivery date

Writing jacket copy
-
Clearing permissions
-
Updating databases
-
Preparing marketing materials
-
Coordinating the sending of authors’ gratis copies

Attending department meetings and learning about potential and current book projects in psychology and social work
Interns will have the opportunity to meet and learn from members of other departments as well.
Requirements
- Must have a career interest in publishing

Previous work/internship experience in an office environment

Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize tasks on a constant basis, and communicate with authors and internal colleagues in a professional manner

Must have strong interpersonal skills

Knowledge of Word and Excel and strong internet searching skills are a must, and working knowledge of Outlook is preferred
Applicants must be enrolled in a degreed program with at least one year of schooling completed, graduated from a degreed program in the past year or enrolled in a degreed program where college credit is granted for the completion of an internship.
