Scout Books & Media, Inc

Intern needed for busy publishing office of Scout Books & Media, Inc.
Founded by Susan Knopf, an industry veteran of 35 years who worked with
Reading Rainbow in its fledgling days, headed up publishing imprints at
HarperCollins, Penguin, and Parachute (a successful book packager), Scout
Books & Media was established as a book packager, literary agency and
consulting firm.  We work with talented writers, editors, and designers to
create and produce books, represent authors and properties as a literary
agent, and consult with publishers and brands.  It’s a small operation, and
very busy — a motivated intern would learn how a book is made from start to
finish, how to work with authors on developing ideas and manuscripts, and
what the industry is like.  In addition, I’m a long-time board member of the
American Book Producers Association, a group of some three dozen book
packagers, and an intern would have an opportunity to be exposed to other
producers if interested.  Intern will be involved with editorial development,

research, photo research and rights, presentation materials,
and more.
